Abstract

The material was developed as part of a project entitled Women Empowerment: Peaceful Action for Security and Stability (WE PASS). The project aims at empowering and involving women in 10 war affected villages to participate in the peace building process, conflict prevention, humanitarian assistance and post-conflict rehabilitation in post war affected regions all within the context of the UN Security Council resolution 1325 (Women, Peace and Security). A caravan was designed and customized specifically for undertaking various activities in the respective villages.

Abstract

The material was developed as part of a national campaign engaging women for lobbying towards civil peace and against civil war. The campaign was developed and implemented within the context of UN Security Council resolution 1325 (Women, Peace, and Security) related to women and girls’ right of protection in situations of armed conflict and the vital role of women in decision making, peace building and lobbying against civil violence and war. Millions of flyers – with various messages - were dropped all over Lebanon by army helicopters. About 450 billboards were displayed nationwide and a TV spot was projected on majority of Lebanese TV channels for a period exceeding a month.
