1.3. Visit to 5 Centers of Excellence (COE) Purpose of activity : The purpose of the visit to the 5 COEs is to carry out a mapping of the 5 COEs currently existing under the RH programme and to identify opportunities and facilitating factors for selecting 2 out of the 5. This activity will be carried out jointly with the MOSA/IEC project given its active role in strengthening the COE Indicators :

1.4. Carry out rapid opinion survey among youth and community leaders in the 2 regions Purpose of activity : The rapid opinion survey will be carried out in the 2 COEs to be able to identify & analyze specific needs, challenges, opportunities, etc essential for increasing access of youth to 2 COEs. The survey will also aim at identifying key & influential leaders Indicators :

1.5. Prepare an advocacy kit
Purpose of activity :
The kit will be prepared to provide evidence based information for promoting HIV/AIDS prevention related interventions within the COEs. The content of the kit will be based on the findings of the Bourj El Barajneh experience (i.e. 1.2.), opinion survey (i.e. activity 1.4.), the outcome of the various teachers and parents surveys currently carried out by the Population Education project, and other relevant surveys. Indicators :

1.6 Hold round table meetings in the three areas where COEs are established with 20-30 participants in each area Purpose of activity :
One meeting will be held in each region with 20-30 participants aiming at a) introducing GYP initiative, 2) discussing findings of the opinion surveys & sharing of the Bourj El Barajneh experience, and 3) disseminating the advocacy kit. The participants have already been identified by the coordinating committee (i.e. 1.1.) + feedback of service providers (i.e. 1.3.) + feedback from opinion survey (i.e. 1.4.) Indicators :

1.7. Hold 2-3 sensitization meetings (SM) in each of the 2 areas Purpose of activity :
Approximately 2-3 SM will be held in each of the 2 regions with the aim of advocating for importance of young people to access HIV/AIDS prevention services and information as part of the YFS package and within the COEs. These SM also aim at getting the commitment of decision makers to facilitate this access. Indicators :
A minimum of 2 community leaders and/or decision makers per region is committed to promote use of young people of YFS in COEs Target group :

Output 2: Increased commitment of municipalities and community leaders/policy makers and decision makers for increasing level of local funding in the amount of $10,000-20,000 towards ensuring accessibility of young people to HIV/AIDS services and information within the youth friendly services offered in 2 “Centers of Excellence” (2 regions of Lebanon) and throughout March 2006.

2.1. Carry out a minimum of 2 visits per area (2 areas where COEs are functional) targeting potential donors and key leaders -1- Purpose of activity :
A minimum of 2 visits will be made in each of the 2 areas by GYPs, representative of the COE, and representative of the local youth network (i.e. under 1.8.) to key prominent leaders and/or potential donors, parliamentarians, etc for sensitizing them on the GYP initiative and gaining their commitment to support access of young people to HIV/AIDS prevention activities within the YFS package of the COE and possibly through expanding the COE with recreational and leisure activities as entry point to YFS Indicators : - A minimum of 2 key stakeholders and potential donors committed to provide needed funding - The amount of $10,000-20,000 is mobilized

2.2. Mainstream mobilized funds into a comprehensive plan of action within the framework of the YFS package and on basis of youth needs and priorities Purpose of activity :
The aim of this task is to ensure that the mobilized funds will be utilized to facilitate access of young people to HIV/AIDS prevention based on their needs and within a comprehensive approach including recreational and educational activities among others Indicators :
